Jan Simon

Biography
Based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

Jan has been working as a jeweller since 2004, using precious metal clay (PMC) to make contemporary fine silver jewellery. PMC is made up of small fine silver particles combined with a non toxic binder & water. Once fired the non toxic binder burns away & the water evaporates. Jan exhibits in, and helps to organise, the annual June Leigh Art Trail.

Statement
My pieces are tactile; the organic & textured designs are influenced by the properties & adaptability of the silver clay.
I take inspiration from the marine surroundings of my hometown of Leigh-on-Sea.

Media
Fine silver jewellery made with precious metal clay; often incorporating semi-precious stones.
