Patience Beaumont
Biography
Based in Castle Hedingham, Essex.
Patience trained at the London College of Furniture and Suffolk College of Art and has been working as a designer/maker since 1996. Some of Patience’s work was used in an exhibition about saffron held at the Saffron Walden Museum. She has also exhibited at various shows and galleries throughout Essex. As well as working to commission, Patience runs courses on batik and dyeing.
Statement
I am inspired by local scenes and places I have visited abroad. I make quick sketches so that I can refer back to the things I have seen. I have always loved strong colours, even as a child, and I love working with natural dyes. I am currently concentrating on saffron and indigo.
