Valma Cheffins
Biography
Based in Romford, Essex.
Valma became interested in etching whilst training to be a teacher during the late sixties. This interest developed at Barking Technical College and Redbridge College on courses taught by Harry Eccleston OBE, then Master Designer for the Bank of England. Valma has exhibited with the Printmakers’ Council and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. Her work has also been shown as part of a women artists exhibition sponsored by the United Nations. My prints are owned by private and corporate buyers across the world.
Statement
Mastering the way in which an image is drawn on the zinc plate and then printing from the plate is a continual challenge to me.
