Rockwell Pottery
Rockwell Pottery, Ian & Annie Evans
Biography
After about ten years of experimenting with a variety of clays and glazes, Ian and Annie eventually launched Rockwell Pottery in June 2010 with the Saffron Walden Arts Trust Open Studios. Their pottery is on the ground floor of their house in Farmadine Court, Saffron Walden, in a purpose built workshop converted from a garage. They are members of the Anglian Potters and exhibit in a variety of selling exhibitions and craft fairs.
Statement
We have a wide range of pots varying in style but all with an organic and natural feel. Our inspiration is based on found objects, textures and graphic motifs.
Media
Stoneware clay fired to 1220°C, making the pots non-porous and very hard. The glazes are in the range of greens, browns and blues, giving the pots a very earthy feel.
