Biography
Based in Felsted Essex
Janet is a potter specialising in porcelain jewellery.
After graduating in Liverpool in 1980 she moved to Essex to take up a post teaching Art and Pottery in Braintree. Since then she has combined teaching with pursuing her own work.
She currently teaches ceramics at Clarance House, Thaxed.
Statement
Inspiration is drawn from both the natural and man-made environment. I find the qualities and versatility of porcelain a constant source of interest. I enjoy exploring its capacity to take texture, show fine detail and the way it can be smoothed like a pebble or stained to produce an infinite palette of colours.
